The Illinois Development Council (IDC) is a voluntary group of economic development professionals affiliated as a not-for-profit corporation for the purpose of furthering the development of the economic base of Illinois.

A board of directors composed for thirteen members governs IDC. A president, vice president and secretary/treasurer are elected annually by the board of directors and make up the executive board. An executive director manages the day-to-day operations of the Council with direction from the Board of Directors. In addition, IDC committees work to:

  • Create opportunities to advance the knowledge base of economic development throughout the state
  • Advocate public policy that enhances the economic competitiveness of Illinois.
  • Plan and execute marketing events positioning Illinois as a premier business location in the global market place.
  • Build and extend the partnership among active economic development players in the state through communication, membership development and support.

 

With the intent of fostering the economic growth in the State of Illinois. IDC provides its members with numerous opportunities for professional dialogue, education, and exchange of information.
